"Dearest" is a single by Yumi Matsuzawa that is the theme song of Martian Successor Nadesico: The Motion Picture - Prince of Darkness. It is one of five songs by Matsuzawa to appear in the series, being her third theme song. There is an instrumental version called the "Off Vocal Version". Both the vocal and instrumental versions were covered by J-pop band Angela as part of their "YOU GET TO BURNING" single released in September 2005.
"Dearest" was originally released as a single with "Rose Bud" in July 1998 and appears on Nadesico the Movie - The Prince of Darkness soundtrack. A version sung by Ruri Hoshino's seiyū, Omi Minami, is on the album Electronic Fairy Ruri Hoshino. The original version by Matsuzawa was rereleased on the 2010 reissue of the "You Get to Burning" single and both versions were rereleased on Martian Successor Nadesico Complete CD-Box ~once and again NADESICO~, a ten disc compilation and reissue of all the music that was created for Nadesico which came out in February 2006 to commemorate the series' 10th anniversary.
