"Rose Bud" (stylized as ROSE BUD) is a image song for Martian Successor Nadesico: The Motion Picture - Prince of Darkness by Yumi Matsuzawa, one of her five songs for the series. It is also the opening song for the Dreamcast game Martian Successor Nadesico: The Mission, which continues the story from Prince of Darkness. There is an instrumental version called the "Off Vocal Version".
"Rose Bud" was originally released as a single with "Dearest" in July 1998 and appears on Nadesico the Movie - The Prince of Darkness soundtrack. A version sung by Ruri Hoshino's seiyū, Omi Minami, is on the album Electronic Fairy Ruri Hoshino. Both versions were rereleased on Martian Successor Nadesico Complete CD-Box ~once and again NADESICO~, a ten disc compilation and reissue of all the music that was created for Nadesico which came out in February 2006 to commemorate the series' 10th anniversary.
